The Power to Believe – The Strangest Secret

Earl Nightingale was one of the greatest motivators of the 20th century. A high-profile sales manager, he wrote the now-legendary The Strangest Secret as a motivator for his own sales team. Produced as an LP record in the 1950s, `The Strangest Secret’ has gone on to captivate and motivate millions. A famous Earl Nightingale quote, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal,” is still revered as an industry standard in the sales community today.

Nightingale wasn’t one of thousands of internet money-making gurus. In fact he wouldn’t have understood the concept because the internet didn’t exist during his lifetime, or at least not to the extent it does today.

Yet this amazing individual advocated some of the soundest and simplest life-changing advice ever applied to achieving long-term success. I personally  found his CDs of immense value in my life. N.B. I am not getting paid for promoting these CDs, just wanted you to know about them.

Listening to Earl Nightingale’s timeless advice you will see exciting possibilities spring to life with only a shift in thinking as he unlocks a world of opportunities for you. As he famously said, “We become what we think about.”

When it comes to goals, careers, finances, and dreams people generally fall into one of five distinct groups:

1. Group One: They knew from an early age where they were going, and mapped out a plan for how to get there.

2. Group Two: Straight out of school they took the first available job and focused on a living and a future.

3. Group Three: They believe the world owes them a living, so they don’t even try and spend their days just getting by.

4. Group Four: This group lives only for today. They’re out for a good time, they spend everything they make on having fun, with no thought for tomorrow.

5. Group Five: This lot are willing to try anything, including hard work, meticulous saving plans, and extreme frugality, to reach their goals. They’ll retire with their mortgages paid and their debts satisfied but their constant work-and-save lifestyle will have cost holidays and memories.

By the time they’re 20 to 25 years old, around 90 percent of Groups Two and Five will know where they’re going and what they want out of life, but they won’t necessarily know how to get there. Groups Three and Four will still be waiting, looking for their proverbial ships to arrive with a Lotto win or other highly unlikely windfall. Group One, if they stick to their plans, will be on track to meet their goals.

Now I’m not talking about all the money-making opportunities that the many internet entepreneurs are offering. My advice in this lifestyle blog is to stay away from these self-made `gurus’ and their wild claims of easy riches if you value what money you do have. Most are either not telling you the truth or they are stretching it to breaking point. Many of these `opportunities’ are purely scams and almost impossible to meet in the promised time-frames. Most will end up costing much more than you are first led to believe.

A greater per cent of trusting hopefuls will walk away disappointed and disillusioned.

What I’m talking about in achieving success is utilising what you already have; your talent, craft, social skills, work ethics, work skills, passion, enthusiasm, and how you can put these together to make the most of who you are.

Over the coming pages I will show you ways you can start changing your lifestyle – but the thing you need most to succeed is that you really have to want it.
